Preparing for College: 10th Grade

SOPHOMORE Checklist

Like the classes you take, your grades will affect the type of higher education that's available to you. The better your grades, the more opportunities you'll have. Work to improve your grades throughout high school. Use the study guide in this section.

What if my grades are not very high?

Average or low grades don't mean you can't go to college because colleges look at a lot more than just your grades.

If your grades aren't high enough for you to go to your first choice college, you have other options. For example, you can go to your local community college for a year, work hard and improve your grades. Then you can transfer to a 4-year college or stay at the community college.
